Things To Do This Weekend in Alhambra
Alhambra has tons to offer when it comes to entertainment and food culture. There is an endless list of things to do on the weekend, but let’s go over some of the highlights most locals like myself enjoy!
Visit Almansor Park
One of the biggest and most popular parks in Alhambra, Almansor park has everything for everyone. The park is also exceptional clean as the Alhambra Chamber of Commerce gathers volunteers regularly to clean any trash/litter from the park.
The park includes a Golf course, golf range, tennis/pickleball courts, soccer courts, baseball courts, indoor volleyball courts, indoor and outdoor basketball courts! That’s a mouthfull haha. There is more than enough space for the whole family to enjoy. Bring your shorts and have a great time playing sports until the days over.
Pro Tip : If you want to secure an indoor basketball spot, or a pickle ball spot, come early! These are the most popular sports at the park and they fill up fast!
Play Some 8Ball
The reason this is included is because there isn’t many 8ball or Pool spots in the SGV. Most of the time you’ll have to go to Los Angeles to find a big enough 8ball spot that isn’t crowded. The Cue Ball Inc, located at 934 E Main St, Alhambra is a local favorite spot!
There are tons of tables and very rarely is the whole store occupied. Plenty of poles and chalk to use. They do offer a small variety of beers and food to enjoy. Closes late at 2am nearly everyday, so come after a night out for some late night fun.
Pro Tip : It’s cash only, so make sure to have some on hand
Visit the Alhambra Historical Society Museum
The Alhambra Historical Society Inc was established in 1966 to preserve and encourage the research/study of the history of Alhambra and it’s affect to the surrounding San Gabriel Valley. As of now, the 11 room Museum holds an enormous collection of artifacts. This list includes more than 400 envelopes of photos from as early as 1880, telephone directories, Alhambra polk city directories, and so so much more to explore and learn! Come curious, and take a walk through Alhambra history.
Pro Tip : The museum hours are 1pm-4pm, every first and third Saturday of every month. If you’d like to request an appointment, call 626.300.8845 to schedule.
